Hydrocyclone separator sand filter working principle of centrifugal force to separate solids from liquids or other liquids of different densities.The mixture is fed tangentially into the cylindrical section of the hydrocyclone, creating a spiral flow. As the mixture flows through the hydrocyclone, the centrifugal force generated by the swirling motion causes denser particles to be forced outwards towards the wall of the cyclone.

These particles are then collected at the bottom of the cyclone and discharged, while the cleaner fluid is directed upwards through the central vortex finder and discharged through the overflow outlet.In a sand filter, the principle is similar, with the sand acting as the medium to separate the solids from the liquid. The mixture is forced through the sand bed, where the larger particles are trapped and the cleaner fluid passes through. The sand bed is periodically backwashed to remove the trapped particles and maintain its filtering efficiency.
