How does a basket filter work? : Working Principle of a Basket Filter

1.Liquid Entry:
-The liquid containing solid particles and debris enters the filter through the inlet port.
-The design usually directs the flow from the outside to the inside of the basket.

2.Filtration Process:
-As the liquid flows through the basket, the perforated or mesh screen captures and retains solid particles on its surface.
-The size of the perforations or mesh openings determines the size of particles that can be filtered out.

3.Filtered Liquid Exit:
-The cleaned liquid passes through the holes in the basket and exits through the outlet port.
-The filtration process continues as long as the basket is not clogged.

4.Debris Collection:
-Debris and solid particles accumulate on the surface of the basket.
-Over time, the collected debris forms a layer that needs to be removed to maintain efficient filtration.

5.Maintenance and Cleaning:
-When the basket becomes clogged, or during scheduled maintenance, the flow is stopped.
-The cover/lid is removed to access the basket.
-The basket is taken out and cleaned by rinsing with water or using suitable cleaning methods.
-After cleaning or replacing the basket, it is reinserted into the housing, the cover is secured, and the flow is resumed.
