What is a hydrocyclone separator ? : A hydrocyclone separator is a device used for separating solid particles from a liquid suspension based on the principle of centrifugal force. It consists of a conical-shaped chamber with an inlet and outlet, and a spinning motion is imparted to the liquid inside the chamber, causing the heavier solid particles to move to the outer edge of the chamber and be collected at the bottom for removal. Hydrocyclone separators are commonly used in industries such as mining, oil and gas, and wastewater treatment.
